I have already unplugged both boxes, allowed them to reboot, and made sure all of the coaxial and HDMI connections are good and secure.īesides the lag, what is up with the lack of options on these boxes? You can't have the clock showing while the box is on (only when it is off)? No picture-in-picture? Box won't switch to the native resolution of the broadcast channel? And then freezes up while switching channels half the time. The living room box, on the other hand, has around a ten-second delay when trying to input a channel from the remote. While the menu is a bit laggy, and the sound lags, it at least responds to my channel inputs. The box in my bedroom is the best of the two. They're slow, laggy, missing features my older boxes had, and the sound seems to be lagging on my TV. These are the worst cable boxes I have ever owned. Stickers on the undersides of the boxes indicate they were originally manufactured in 2017. They're both labeled as "9865HDC" near the power button, and they look identical, except one box has a Time Warner logo on the right side, and the other box says.Technicolor? They're clearly refurbished units, as the boxes and even the new "Spectrum Guide" remotes have scratches and scuffs on them. I received two boxes, and I believe they're both Cisco-made. Signed up as a new customer, ordered the Gig Internet, and got two DVR boxes. So I moved out and bought my own apartment recently, and decided to stick with Spectrum over switching to Verizon. And more or less, had a similar range of options. The boxes were great, stable, and responsive. Our former cable boxes included a Scientific Atlanta 8300HD, and more recently, a Cisco Explorer 8642HDC. My building had a legacy bulk package my family took part in.
My neighborhood in New York City has underground utilities, and service outages are pretty rare. Hi, everyone! Quick background: I've been in a Time Warner/Spectrum household since 2001, and have been pretty satisfied with the service.
